My Mom always says I was born with the love of horses. I began riding lessons at the age of 10, in La Canada, California. It was there where I learned to ride and knew then, I'd never go without riding in my life. For four years, I rode in Pony Club events, caroused the trails, and showed at small shows, even at the then famous, Flintridge Children's Show. At age 14, I began my show career at Rosewood Riding Club. Through a family friend, I was able to become a working student for Scott and Andy O'Neil, founders of the Rosewood Medal. Thanks to their efforts and guidance, I quickly learned what it took to be a quality rider. They found a donated mare named Two's Company that had been a difficult Grand Prix horse, to make into my medal horse. I showed catch rides on sale horses in the Junior Hunters, while still riding my mare in the Equitation and Junior Jumpers. The highlights of my Junior years would be: Sixth Place USET Finals West, Top 15 Maclay Regionals, Top Ten LAHSA Finals, Top 15 AHSA Regionals, along with year end PCHA and LAHSA Equitation Championships. At the end of my Junior Year Scott and Andy retired, so I chose to persue my interest in Accounting at Cal State Nothridge, riding only as time allowed. I boarded my horses at John Higginson's, a well known Quarter Horse Trainer, where eventually I began helping him with his English horses. Finally, missing the show scene, I focused my career entirely on becoming a successful professional, Horse Trainer that is. I began working at Rainbow Canyon Ranch by seeking help with a green hunter. Thirty years later, I am still happily working for Rainbow Canyon Ranch, as part of a very successful team. I am extremely proud of producing many major medal finals winners in the following prestegious events: AHSA Adult Regional Finals, LAHJA Junior and Senior, LAHJA Horsemanship, Zone X Medal Finals, SFHJA Junior and Senior, SFHJA Challenge, Foxfield , CPHA Foundation, CPHA Child/Adult and PCHA Adult. I am also pleased to have ridden and trained year end Champions in LAHJA, SFHJA, Zone X , PCHA Region One, and AQHA World Champions. For me, the most enjoyable experience of all, is to see and to be a part of the joy of someone's first time winning, or learning something new.
