Patrick began his career where he was born and raised, in Vancouver, Canada. He started riding at age 12 with Canadian Olympian and Pan-Am Gold Medalist, Leslie Reid, who recognised a natural talent in this young man. At age 17, Patrick ventured to Germany to broaden his horizons, both globally and as an equestrian. Patrick took a job at a Jumper Sales Barn, where he showed nearly every weekend and won accolades in several Grand Prix.
At 18, Patrick came to the United States and began his career at Rainbow Canyon Ranch, eventually becoming one of the top Hunter/Jumper riders in the country. over the past 26 years, he has trained and shown dozens of USEF and PCHA year end champions, as well as many medal finals winners. Patrick has produced Local, Regional, National and World Hunter champions. He has shown these champions around the country, including Capitol Challenge. One of the greatest testimonies to Patricks' success is having recieved the Don Tipton Award three times- for West Coast Leading Hunter Rider.
Every year, Patrick has a new string of young equines as well as seasoned winners. When asked to name the memorable ones, he includes: Undeniable, Sin City, Maurice, Estrella, Cour d' Alene, Second Wind, Cousteau, Fenway Park, Grand Marnier, Chocolate Kiss, Godspeed, and many more.
