Rainbow Canyon Ranch offers a college P.E course through the Claremont Colleges.

Orientation-Open House:

Orientation is held at Rainbow Canyon Ranch. We will discuss class requirements, scheduling, and help arrange transportation (carpooling).

Course Description:

Your class meets once per week  for 7 weeks. Plan on spending at least 2 hours for each class (riding lesson) which does not include travel time. We do our best to offer times to fit your schedule. Classes will begin the second week after the semester begins. All classes are held at Rainbow Canyon Ranch, just 20 minutes East of Campus.

Riding Attire Required:  

We suggsest tall, leather, English riding boots and breeches, however alternatives are listed below.   

175 lb. Weight Limit

Helmet:  ASTM approved helmet. Hair must be pulled back and worn neatly under helmet.

Boots: Paddock boots or tall riding boots. No exceptions.

Pants: Breeches, chaps or half chaps are required.

Shirts: All shirts must be of a length able to be tucked in to pants.

Gloves: Reccomended

Dear Students,

 We are looking forward to you joining our riding program, whether you are doing it for credit or for  just for fun. We are prepared to give you a great physical and mental workout (no reading required!) . We hope you will have a chance to unwind from the pressures of school by enjoying our beautiful facility and making new friends ( both 2 and 4 legged).

 Our job is to teach you the art and skills of Hunt Seat Equitation in a safe and fun environment. Feel confident that you will be riding at one of the leading training facilities on the West Coast. Many of the horses and riders we train are Nationally recognized year after year. We will do our best to match you up with just the right horse, you can think of your horse as a really big lab partner!
